Bright and eye-catching Levenhuk Rainbow 2L Amethyst Microscope can make biology classes truly interesting. With this microscope your child can see infusorians with their own eyes (not just the picture in the book), examine onion cells and conduct a number of fascinating experiments. The microscope comes with everything needed already included in the package. In the box you will find ready-to-use microscope slides as well as useful tools required for preparing new slides.

Optics A special optical glass is used to create the optics of this instrument; such glass has a high level of transparency and doesn't distort images. The lenses are also covered with multiple layers of coating to make images even more clear and contrast. The kit includes three objectives, which provide magnifications from 40x up to 400x. All you need to do to change the magnification is simply rotate the revolving nosepiece holding objectives.

Illumination Two bright illumination systems of this microscope give you the opportunity to observe a great number of different samples. Lower illumination is useful when you need to observe transparent objects in transmitted light. You can, for example, examine thin samples of plant and animal origin. To observe non-transparent objects such as coins, paper or fabrics, use upper illumination. Both illuminations need to be turned on in order to study semi-transparent samples. Brightness is adjustable, so you can easily change it depending on the observed sample.

Body and power supply The microscope features a quality plastic body, which is both lightweight and durable. To make working with the microscope more comfortable, its head is inclined at 45°. The microscope can be powered by an outlet or batteries.
