For heating and stirring up to six flat-bottom vessels simultaneously.

A solid-state speed control allows specific regulation of stirring to suit requirements. Hot plate heats quickly and uniformly to 608°F (320°C), with stepless thermostat. Top plate is non-warping, cast aluminum. Unit accommodates up to six 1000ml beakers at one time.

Stirring range is up to 1200 rpm for liquids with viscosities from 0 to 100% glycerol. Independent controls enable the operator to stir, heat, or stir and heat liquids. Separate on-off switches allow stopping and restarting either heater or stirrer at any time without changing control settings. The power switches have individual pilot lights.

The stirrer unit is powered with six permanently lubricated and fan-cooled motors. Housing is insulated to prevent table-top scorching. (Barnstead 1268)
